Joplin and Springfield — the northern edge of our service area

Southwest Missouri — particularly Joplin and Springfield — represents our northernmost regular service area at 4–5 hours from Oklahoma City. Joplin is the more accessible of the two, sitting right at the corner of Missouri, Kansas, and Arkansas. That makes it especially convenient when paired on a multi-day run through eastern Oklahoma and NW Arkansas.

Springfield is reachable on a dedicated longer trip. If you're in the Springfield area and interested in summer programming, we'd encourage you to reach out early — these longer trips require more advance planning and tend to book further out than closer destinations.

Missouri libraries work best when we can combine the visit with nearby Arkansas or eastern Oklahoma stops on the same trip. If your system is in Joplin and you know a neighboring AR library that might be interested, a combined inquiry often makes the routing and travel costs work for everyone.
